Mikrozvuk #59: Zeynep Toraman / Motvilja
Lineup
- 20:00 Motvilja
- 21:00 Zeynep Toraman
At the end of March, LOM space will host a concert from the Mikrozvuk series, featuring performances by Zeynep Toraman and Motvilja.
Zeynep Toraman is a composer and researcher from Istanbul based in Berlin. In her work, she explores the ways in which texts can interact within the broader framework of musical compositions. Zeynep works at the intersection of academic research and a longstanding interest in poetry, fiction, and history, often collaborating with various international orchestras. At LOM, she will present her new project Glossolalia, in which she explores misinterpretations, sound translations, and changes in the voice, using a rave-style manipulation of her own voice as musical material.
Motvilja (formerly metanoia elongation) is an experimental project by Jonáš Mačing that blends elements of electroacoustic minimalism, cassette loops, field recordings, drone, and ambient guitar music. Jonáš has already performed several notable concerts at events such as Real Shit and Samé Ucho, and also appeared at the Near festival. Last month, he was part of a collective that presented the composition Zmiešané signály at the Slúchadlo sound gallery. He returns to the scene with an electroacoustic set featuring virtual instruments created using field recordings, sine waves, the Laotian khaen, and the harmonium.
